Map each identifier to the page type that best represents it. Brand, model, part number, and generic category can represent different intents.
1. Use product pages for exact model/SKU/part-number searches when the item is uniquely identifiable.
2. Use brand category pages when shoppers want to browse multiple products from one manufacturer.
3. Use generic categories for nonbrand discovery and attribute-based comparison.
4. Include identifiers in structured product data and visible specifications where they are accurate and useful.
5. Avoid creating thin doorway pages for every possible combination of brand + category + attribute unless the page has real inventory and demand.
6. Keep canonicals and variant strategy consistent so the same product is not duplicated across multiple identifiers.
Good ecommerce keyword mapping mirrors the catalog itself: one canonical destination for each meaningful product or browse intent.
