Track the actions that represent real buying intent and, where possible, connect them to qualified outcomes rather than counting every click as equal.
1. Primary conversions can include submitted lead forms, booked appointments, completed purchases, qualified calls, quote requests, or signed-up consultations.
2. Secondary events can include click-to-call, email clicks, direction requests, brochure downloads, chat starts, or key pricing/service-page engagement.
3. Use thank-you states or server-side confirmation where possible so a button click alone does not inflate completed leads.
4. Deduplicate browser/server events and test forms on every major template.
5. Pass landing page, source/medium, service/location, and campaign context into CRM or lead records when feasible.
6. Review lead quality with the client so optimization can focus on revenue-producing inquiries rather than raw form volume.
The most useful SEO dashboard follows the path from search visibility to qualified business outcome. Everything else is supporting context.
