Neighborhood pages should be created only when the neighborhood represents a distinct search/use case and the business has enough local information to make the page meaningfully different.
1. Check whether customers actually describe the area by neighborhood and whether search demand is consistent.
2. Look for unique factors such as housing stock, access, regulations, landmarks, service constraints, or project history.
3. Do not create dozens of neighborhood pages by swapping the name into a city template.
4. Consider a strong city page with a detailed neighborhoods-served section when each neighborhood cannot support a full page.
5. Use internal links from the city hub to only the neighborhoods that justify dedicated content.
6. Monitor cannibalization between city and neighborhood pages and consolidate when they compete for the same intent.
Go more granular only when the customer experience is genuinely more granular. Geographic depth should follow evidence, not a desire to manufacture more URLs.
